Boutique film lab in the heart of Oklahoma.

Welcome to STUDIO V Labs. STUDIO V started as a photography studio that still photographs on photographic film. From 35mm to 8x10 sheet film, we started realizing that color and style is all subjective and everyone has a style.

STUDIO V, my photography studio, began just processing the film and photos for myself and quickly gained the attention of close friends and colleagues. I was offered drinks in exchange for development and that quickly became unsustainable!

A handful of rolls a week turned into strangers showing up at my home to drop off film every other day. This lasted for a few years in my laundry room till we opened STUDIO V. We officially opened to the local public and now we are opening mail in processing.

We are a very small lab that do everything by hand and there are lot of customized processes. Here are a few things we do a little different here at STUDIO V Labs. In the end, we love to share this medium of photography and #keepfilmalive!

“Don’t compromise on the things you don’t want to compromise on. Stick with your gut. Stick with what you know and believe in. Don’t settle for less.”

What makes our processing different?

Everything we process is nearly by hand and customizable. From chemistry temperature to how you want your negatives sleeved, we really approach this with an artisan mindset. The reason why we use the Jobo System is how the system does not touch the emulsion side of the film. There is a less of a chance for scratching, jamming or tearing of the film using the Jobo than an automatic processing machine. Our Jobo processor is cleaned and inspected for leaks daily. We also have clean water flushing in and out in case of contamination. I have a background in the the medical surgical field and I think my training helped me improve my darkroom lab skills. The film is dried in a filtered air dryer with at least 50% humidity to decrease cupping and curling. The film is sorted and scanned on our Noritsu HS1800 and goes through color correction. We aim for neutral colors and tones unless you have specific instructions. We have some clients that like extra contrast and some like darker shadows and blacks. We strive to have your film basically ready to be printed or shared.
